The Brighton Optimist Club keeps zero dollars from these events. Money is split 50% to the charity of the month and 50% to the player prize pool. It’s simple – the more players we have, the more money generated.
What We Do
• We organize, market and conduct the event at Eternity Brewing Company.
• We create an event on our facebook page, htps://www.facebook.com/BrightonOptimistClub • Our venue, Eternity Brewing Company, is made the event co-host and they also do some social media promoting. Eternity Brewing Company is also generous with adding extra prizes (gift cards) and a ‘buck a brew’ donation, too.
• We have a page for euchre events on our we site, htps://BrightonOptimist.org/euchre • We post the event on the WHMI calendar.
• Some months we run a small cost facebook boost for the event, about 2 weeks out. • We will circulate a press release and photo of the check presentation after the event.
What you can do
• Circulate the attached poster to your group/supporters/facebook page/web site. • If you make social media posts on facebook, you can include @BrightonOptimistClub and @EternityBrewingCompany. If you’re into hashtags, you can use #2ndTuesdayEuchre to make the event more ‘findable’ on all social media.
• Like/follow our page, the venue, the event, and posts that mention the event. Encourage your followers and supporters to do the same. We state our max number of players is 40, but we can sometimes add another table or two ‘on the fly’.
• Plan to have a representative speak to the players for about 2 minutes before the start of the event. A great opportunity to tell them about the impact your group has within the community. Some groups have found it advantageous to hang around for a while and mingle with the players between rounds.
• Schedule a date/time for the check presentation. We like to do that as soon as possible (2-7 days) after the event. If you don’t have a location, we can meet at Eternity Brewing Company. It takes about 10 minutes for the presentation and photos. You are welcome to submit a few sentences to be included in the press release. Please send along the exact name of the payee for check writing, too.
